It is always hard when your profession is meant to help people's health and possibly even give them a greater lifespan and see other companies create products and food that are counterproductive to health and safety.  Many Dentists are absolutely averse to certain types of candy that actually hurt your teeth and could lead to health issues later on. So having a candy that is created and generally hurts your dental health is just not right.  It seems like it should almost be illegal, but we live in American and can harm our health for our own enjoyment and that is a right we are given.  So let's get into some of the worst candies for your teeth.

The first one that comes to the list actually fits its name and title very well.  The top worst candy on the dental list is Jawbreakers.  This candy literally can break jaws and cause lots of dental and bone issues by the users of it. The issue is that these candies actually are hard enough to crack teeth and destroy your jaw in the process.  They also last longer than almost any other candy.  This sounds like the perfect candy for enjoyment but it also puts up to 36 grams of sugar in direct contact with your teeth for a very long time.

This means that it has much longer to deteriorate your teeth and destroy enamel not just with cracked buy with the power of bacteria. In the long run this can not only lead to dental health issues but lots of physical ailments caused along because of it. This is candy that all dentists will suggest never letter your kids or yourself eat. So the next candy on the list is a halloween favorite.

Candy corns can be a true halloween scare for your teeth. It doesn't take many of these to get you up to 32 grams of sugar.  This is around half a pint of a top named ice cream and think about eating 4 or 5 of those due to the candy consumption. The soft gummy nature of these candies also has a very sticky side.  The sticky side literally sticks to your teeth letting all that sugar erode your enamel and working on giving you lots of cavities.

This can lead to bacteria breaking down good things in your mouth and causing so many health issues that its not even worth eating the candy for.  So be careful and consult your dental provider for advice on what to eat and how to protect your mouth if you do splurge once in a while.
